Nutritional Information

Bison is full of flavour, tender and lean, making it the ideal red meat for the health conscious among you.  Bison meat has a  slightly sweeter and richer taste than traditional beef.  It is often described as a dense meat with a rich flavour, satisfying you more while eating less.

Bison meat is a nutrient dense food because of the proportion of protein, fat, mineral and fatty acids to its calorific value.  Comparisons to other meat sources have shown that bison meat has a greater concentration of iron, zinc and essential fatty acids.  In addition to all these positives, bison meat has also been shown to compare favourably in fat and cholesterol content when compared with other meat products.

We've had Scottish bison beef analysed to compare with the available information from Canada and it shows Scottish Bison are lean!
